About

“Bedouin Fire” comes from that great U2 song, “Beautiful Day,” where Bono sings, “see the bedouin fires at night.” I can imagine the darkness all around the light of the fire, the people eating, drinking, and resting in their journeys, and it made me think about traveling through this world as a believer, someone who carries the light of God with them.

“My ancestor was a wandering Aramean…,” and those few words from the Old Testament mean that I am a traveler. Discovering new people, new places, and even some new food engages and energizes me. I may not travel to foreign places as much as I might like, but I am always traveling as I study God’s word, read books, watch TV, or discuss this life with fellow travelers.

So, here we are, journeying together, searching, exploring, wandering, as we move down the dusty roads of this life. I look forward to journeying with you.

As you journey through this life, take the fire with you.
