Catch Fire
Maybe you move through this life thinking or feeling that something is missing, but you can’t quite put your finger on it. Maybe you think religion is a bunch of hokey-pokey nonsense, and you don’t really need anything. Maybe you started a journey with Jesus once in your life, but you’ve stepped away from that path.
If those might be true in your life, you might be missing the discovery of a lifetime, really, the discovery of life: a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Jesus is present, he is real, and he wants you to know him.
Knowing him is a constant journey of discovery, in good times and bad. We can find him in the byways and highways of our lives, and he is always looking to show his love and person to us. The great thing is that Jesus knows you, loves you, and gave himself for you.
There are no places you go that he hasn’t already been. There is nothing you can face that he can’t handle. There is nothing in your life that is a surprise to him. He is a constant, loving savior looking to give you life.
A Prayer of Salvation
So, wherever you go, he is there, and he’s always extending an invitation to journey with him. Catch the fire of Christ living in you, for “it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2.1-10).
Invite the Lord Jesus Christ into your life with this simple prayer of salvation:
Gracious God, I know I have sinned against you, and I have separated myself from you. I am truly and deeply sorry, and now I turn away from my past sins toward life in you. I believe that your one and only son, Jesus Christ, lived, suffered, and died for my sins; I believe he was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and he hears my prayers. I know he loved me and gave himself for me. I now invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this moment forward. I ask for your Holy Spirit to come into my life to help me obey you, so that I may follow you and do your will for the rest of my life. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Romans 10.9-11 tells us, ‘That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”‘ With this simple prayer, you have just claimed the promise of life for yourself.
If you’ve taken the time to pray this saving prayer, please let me know, I’d like to pray for you. Also, take a moment to share with someone that God has entered your life in Jesus. May the Lord Jesus richly bless you as you begin this journey with him.
Take the fire with you as you journey through this life.
